DMA-Modus!

Mein Laufwerk läuft im PIO Modus und ich weiß nicht wie ich das einstellen muss, dass es im DMA Modus läuft.
Bitte um Hilfe!!

Hallo,

unter XP im Gerätemanager unter IDE-ATA/ATAPI-Controller beim Primäry und Secondaren Kanal unter Erweiterter Einstellung überall den Übertragungsmodus:

DMA, wenn verfügbar

wählen.

Soweit hab ich das jetzt, aber bei "Aktueller Übertragungsmodus" steht immernoch Pio-Modus ... auch wenn ich einen Neustart gemacht habe Huh

Dann unterstützt dein Laufwerk den DMA-Modus nicht.

Samsung WriteMaster SH-S182D heißt mein Laufwerk. Und das ist so gut wie neu...also kanns nicht sein das des Laufwerk den Modus nicht unterstützt ...

Kann passieren, hatte das Phänomen neulich auch. Ich poste einfach mal, was ich in einem englischsprachigen Forum fand (und was mir geholfen hat):

CD-ROM and DVD-ROM drives can revert to using PIO mode, despite being set to use "DMA if Available." This article explains how to make Windows XP redetect the DMA capabilities of the drives.
This behaviour occurs with the following conditions:
Windows XP is the operating system
A CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive, which is known to support DMA mode now works only in PIO mode.
The drive controller is set to use "DMA if available" but reports to be only in PIO mode.

RESOLUTION

Open RegEdit
Find the following KEY

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E96A-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\000x
The last four digits will be 0000, 0001, 0002, 0003, and so on.
Under each key, delete all occurences of the following values:
MasterIdDataChecksum
SlaveIdDataChecksum.
Reboot the computer. Windows will now redetect DMA settings.

Hallo JoSsiF,

was mache ich, wenn unter dem angegebenen Schlüssel bei mir der Eintrag "SlaveIdDataChecksum" fehlt? Auch über Suche in der Registry habe ich nichts gefunden. Dann nur "MasterIdDataChecksum" löschen?

Ich habe das Problem, dass manche CDs gelesen werden, andere nicht.
